Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income On-site Applications Accepted Starting from the 20th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The application for Gyeonggi Province's disaster basic income, which provides 100,000 KRW per person once regardless of income or age, will expand from online to offline.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that starting from the 20th, applications for the Gyeonggi Province disaster basic income prepaid card will be accepted at 545 Eup, Myeon, and Dong administrative welfare centers across 31 cities and counties in the province, 216 NongHyup branches, and 725 regional agricultural cooperatives.
The province's disaster basic income prepaid card is intended for those who have difficulty using the Gyeonggi local currency card or credit cards. The card can be used 2 to 3 days after the application date upon receiving a usage approval text message.
To apply for the prepaid card, applicants must visit the Eup, Myeon, or Dong administrative welfare center at their registered resident address or the nearest NongHyup branch with their ID card.
When applying for the prepaid card, one family member can receive the card on behalf of other family members with their authorization, without a separate power of attorney.
Consent to provide personal information and the power of attorney are included in the application form, so no separate power of attorney or seal certificate is required for proxy applications.
If someone falsely claims to have received authorization and obtains the basic income for other family members, they will be punished for forgery and use of private documents and fraud.
However, to avoid congestion during the prepaid card application process, the province has divided the application period according to household size and birth year.
Accordingly, in the first week (April 20?26), households with four or more members can apply; in the second week (April 27?May 3), three-person households; in the third week (May 4?10), two-person households; and in the fourth week (May 11?17), single-person households or those who missed earlier application periods can apply.
Additionally, a mask day system is applied, designating application days based on the last digit of the birth year. For example, on the Monday of the first week, residents in households of four or more with birth years ending in 1 or 6 can apply, and on the Tuesday of the second week, residents in three-person households with birth years ending in 2 or 7 can apply.
Residents who miss applying during their designated week can apply at Eup, Myeon, or Dong administrative welfare centers on Saturdays and Sundays. To accommodate workers, welfare centers accept applications until 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
NongHyup branches accept applications from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. From May 18 onward, regardless of household size, cards can be issued during normal weekday business hours at Eup, Myeon, Dong administrative welfare centers or NongHyup branches.
Cards are issued by consolidating the amount per household into one prepaid card. For example, a four-person household will receive a prepaid card loaded with 400,000 KRW. Five-person households can be charged up to 500,000 KRW, and households with six or more members must receive two cards.
The province is currently requesting the government to adjust the prepaid card usage limit to reduce this to one card, and system improvements are underway.
This disaster basic income is a one-time payment and cannot be recharged. It is also important to note that lost cards cannot be reissued.
