View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seoul Jung-gu District Office (Mayor Seoyangho) Health Center has been operating two 'medical partition' specimen collection rooms since the 5th, receiving positive responses from test subjects.
The district quickly introduced this to assist residents with safe and rapid testing convenience.
A medical partition is designed with an acrylic wall in the center to separate the medical staff and test subject spaces, allowing specimen collection through glove-attached openings. This eliminates the need for direct contact between medical staff and the test subject opposite them, minimizing the risk of infection during specimen collection.
Additionally, a negative pressure device is installed inside to block the external leakage of internal air, reducing infection concerns. Safe testing is possible without wearing Level D protective suits, which not only reduces protective equipment usage but also shortens testing time, thereby decreasing medical staff fatigue.
Choi Sungyoung, an infectious disease control doctor at Jung-gu Health Center's screening clinic, said, "Previously, protective suits had to be changed every time a test was conducted, but now that is unnecessary, greatly reducing physical exhaustion. Since disinfection is only required in the space where the test subject stayed after specimen collection, waiting times have shortened, making test delays rare."
A health center official stated that the actual testing time per person has decreased from about 30 minutes to around 10 minutes.
Kang (female, 30), who completed specimen collection through the medical partition, said, "Although the space was separated, I could still see the medical staff's face, and the test was conducted kindly, so the separation did not feel significant. Rather, I felt it was safer than an open space."

Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "We introduced a safe and efficient testing system without hesitation to ensure the safety of Jung-gu residents and medical staff.
