Eunpyeong-gu Launches 'Seoul City Disaster Emergency Living Expenses' Application Service on District Website
Providing Improved Service Addressing Inconveniences of Existing Online Applications Through the 'Seoul Bokji Portal'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it is preparing an application reception service through the district website to facilitate residents' smooth application for the 'Seoul City Disaster Emergency Living Expenses' and the government emergency disaster relief fund.
The 'Seoul City Disaster Emergency Living Expenses' provides 300,000 KRW for 1-2 person households, 400,000 KRW for 3-4 person households, and 500,000 KRW for households of 5 or more, in the form of prepaid cards or Eunpyeong Love Gift Certificates, to households with a median income of 100% or less who face livelihood difficulties due to COVID-19. Online applications have been accepted since the 30th of last month through the Seoul Welfare Portal (wiss.seoul.go.kr).
As of the 16th, Eunpyeong-gu's online applications have been counted at 37,974 cases, and it is estimated that about 40% of the eligible households in Eunpyeong-gu have applied for support.
Residents who find online use difficult can visit their local community service center after the 16th to apply in person.
Currently, online applications are made through the Seoul Welfare Portal, but mobile access is not possible, and an online 5-day rotation system is implemented similar to the public mask 5-day rotation system, requiring applications only on the designated day according to the last digit of the birth year, causing inconvenience.
To improve these inconveniences, Eunpyeong-gu has established a system on the district website to accept applications for disaster emergency living expenses.
Accordingly, from May, Eunpyeong-gu residents can access the district website anytime via PC or mobile regardless of the day of the week and apply.
The application method through the district website is as follows: Access the Eunpyeong-gu Office website (http://www.ep.go.kr) via PC or mobile, log in as a non-member through mobile phone authentication or I-PIN authentication, enter the menu at the top (COVID-19 → Disaster Emergency Living Expenses Support), fill out and submit the application form.
