[Weather] Strong Winds and Heavy Rain Until Early Dawn Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] On Saturday, the 18th, until early morning, strong rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning is expected mainly in the central region, inland Jeonbuk, and Gyeongsang Province.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that rain will continue until around noon in Gangwon Yeongdong and the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk. The expected precipitation by noon on the 18th is 5 to 30 mm.
In some areas, hail may fall along with heavy rain, so special attention should be paid to traffic safety.
On the 18th, due to the influence of cold air flowing in from the northwest, temperatures will not rise and will show a similar temperature distribution to the previous day.
The morning low temperature is expected to be between 6 and 11 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature is expected to be between 13 and 22 degrees Celsius.
On the 19th, the whole country will generally be cloudy, with rain starting in Jeju Island in the morning, expanding to Jeolla Province during the day, and falling in most regions nationwide in the evening.
The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that even after the low-pressure system affecting our country moves out to the East Sea, the cold air remaining in the upper atmosphere will cause atmospheric instability, potentially resulting in hail in inland areas until early morning on the 18th, urging management of facilities and prevention of safety accidents.
From early morning to morning on the 18th, in the high mountain areas of Gangwon Province, rain will change to snow, with snowfall amounts around 1 cm.
