Seodaemun-gu Dispatches 'IT Instructors' to Schools for Online Classes
Customized Education Provided Over Two Days, Three Hours Each, at 13 Elementary and Secondary Schools Requested for Support

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will dispatch IT teaching assistants to local elementary, middle, and high schools from the 20th of this month to the 15th of next month to ensure smooth online remote classes amid COVID-19.
Previously, through a demand survey, the district received requests for support from a total of 13 schools: 4 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 4 high schools.
These schools hoped to receive education and technical support for using EBS Online Class, Google Classroom, and creating lecture content.
Among the IT teaching assistant pool being established as Seodaemun-gu prepares to open the Seodaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and Convergence Talent Education Center (49 Yeonhui-ro 36-gil), five assistants will visit the schools matched with them.
The assistants will provide customized one-on-one training for teachers with varying levels of proficiency in IT and remote teaching, for three hours a day over two days.
Seodaemun-gu plans to operate teacher training programs for video lecture content production at the Seodaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and Convergence Talent Education Center, scheduled to open next month, and establish ‘Media Making Rooms’ in schools within the district.
The Seodaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and Convergence Talent Education Center will consist of a comprehensive experience room, VR/AR experience room, 3D making room, digital drawing room, coding classroom, IoT classroom, AI robot classroom, media production room, drone flight and autonomous driving space, among others.
Here, one-day experience courses, semester courses, teacher training, resident instructor training, and citizen education courses will be conducted covering topics such as coding, robotics, Arduino, drones, webtoons, content creation, app development, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the Internet of Things.
In particular, the district plans to operate programs linked with local universities’ departments, clubs, and research institutes related to the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’ for free semester systems, subject deepening, and career experiences.
