Honam University Publishes Special Edition of 'Honam University Newspaper' on COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) announced on the 17th that it produced the Honam University Newspaper (Issue 483) and sent it to all students via email and mobile, and delivered it to each home by mail to share university news with enrolled students attending online lectures due to COVID-19.
Honam University Integrated News Center (Editor Jeong Cheol) resumed publication of the Honam University Newspaper, which had been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 situation, expanding it from 4 pages to 20 pages, and issued it on the 15th to inform students about school news and academic information.
Issue 483 of the Honam University Newspaper, produced as the opening issue for the first semester of the 2020 academic year and as a COVID-19 special edition, contains major school news and COVID-19 response updates from January through the 15th.
It was especially edited with various features such as encouraging messages from department professors eagerly awaiting meetings with their students, introductions to clubs?one of the students’ interests?and the introduction of Honam University’s webtoon character ‘Hodeok-i’.
The Honam University Newspaper, published by student reporters from the Honam University Integrated News Center, is a 16-page full-color tabloid issued biweekly during the semester.
Honam University Integrated News Center, the nation’s only multi-journalist training institution at a university, has about 20 student reporters who publish the Honam University Newspaper and the Korean-Chinese newspaper Korean Honam University News (韓國湖南大學報), and operate YouTube channels ‘Honam University TV’ and ‘Hoho TV’.
They also operate various media such as newspaper, broadcasting, and SNS, including three daily radio broadcasts on campus, nurturing students as multi-journalists.
