Gangbuk-gu, Recruiting Tenants for 'Dojeonsuk,' a Shared Housing for Young Solo Entrepreneurs
Recruiting a total of 10 households until May 4, rent 30-50% cheaper than surrounding market prices... Within 5 minutes walk to Gyeongjeon Line, 5-story building with cultural exchange community space on the 1st floor
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyumsu) is recruiting a total of 10 units of customized rental housing called ‘Dojeonsuk’ for local young solo entrepreneurs until May 4.
‘Dojeonsuk,’ meaning a lodging for challengers, is a place that provides a home and a business complex space for young entrepreneurs. It is located near Gaori Station on the Ui-Sinseol Light Rail, within a 5-minute walk.
With Bukhansan National Park (Ui Branch) and Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center nearby, the residential environment is also an outstanding advantage.
The building has 5 floors above ground, with units ranging from 42.09 to 49.06㎡. On the first floor, there is a community space for cultural exchange among residents.
The deposit ranges from 16.56 million to 30.75 million KRW depending on the area and the previous year’s average monthly income, and the monthly rent is between 210,000 and 400,000 KRW, which is 30 to 50% of the surrounding market price.
Eligibility requires meeting all five conditions as of the announcement date (April 17, 2020), including being a young solo creative entrepreneur (including prospective entrepreneurs). Since the qualification conditions are diverse, applicants must carefully check their eligibility and required documents through the announcement posted on the district website.
In addition, applications can only be submitted via email (alwayshs1@gangbuk.go.kr) to minimize face-to-face contact. The selection of residents will be individually notified in mid-July after document screening, and move-in is scheduled to begin in August this year.
The district plans to sequentially supply a total of 77 units of ‘Dojeonsuk’ in six phases to help young entrepreneurs settle smoothly in the area.
Park Kyumsu, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “Providing customized housing will be the foundation for young entrepreneurs to realize their infinite dreams,” and added, “We will continue to create an environment where local youth can focus on their businesses without worrying about housing.”
