Gyeonggi Office of Education to Support 50% of Private Kindergarten Tuition Deficits
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will provide temporary support for the tuition fee deficits for March and April to assist private kindergartens struggling financially due to COVID-19 and to reduce the burden on parents.
The eligible applicants are private kindergartens that fully refund the tuition fees paid by parents for March and April and pay the full salaries of their registered teachers to the Gyeonggi Office of Education.
Among the tuition fee deficits for March and April, 50% will be borne by the private kindergartens, and the remaining 50% will be shared and supported by the Ministry of Education and the Gyeonggi Office of Education.
The maximum support amount per child is 140,000 KRW for curriculum tuition and 24,300 KRW for after-school program tuition.
The application deadline is until the 6th of next month. Private kindergartens wishing to apply should submit the application form and related supporting documents to the Education Support Office.
