Gwangju Dong-gu to Proceed with Construction of Passing Spaces on 5 Side Streets
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 16th that it will carry out construction to create passing spaces on back roads within the district to establish a safe traffic environment.
This project aims to improve traffic flow by creating passing spaces on roads where passing is inconvenient due to parking on back roads. The target areas include five locations such as around Hak1 Village Apartments and near Gyerim Five-way Intersection.
The project areas were prioritized based on the district's own inspections and continuous requests from residents to resolve traffic inconveniences. Passing spaces will be created using methods such as colored pavement, installation of lane restriction posts, and text painting.
