According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 16th, the Ministry of National Defense and the Army, Navy, and Air Force Headquarters announced the "2020 Military Civilian Employee Recruitment Examination Implementation Plan" on their internet homepage on the same day.
The Ministry of National Defense will conduct recruitment exams for military civilian employees of grade 5 and above in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as all ranks in the Ministry of National Defense's direct units. Each branch will conduct recruitment exams for military civilian employees of grade 6 and below. Among the 4,139 positions, 3,210 are open competitive recruitment (585 for grade 7 and 2,625 for grade 9), and 929 are career competitive recruitment.
Compared to last year's recruitment numbers, there is an increase of about 180 people. The Ministry of National Defense explained that this reflects the results of replacing non-combat military positions with civilian personnel and reinforcing manpower on the field-centered basis in accordance with the implementation of Defense Reform 2.0.
Those who pass the written and practical exams will be determined within 150% of the planned number of recruits. Additionally, to promote the employment of persons with disabilities, the Ministry of National Defense plans to hire 409 people under the "separate recruitment for persons with disabilities," which is more than 100 people higher than last year. Positions exempt from the written exam according to the law, such as for persons with severe disabilities, soldiers who became physically disabled during military service, and professionals with qualifications and experience, will be reviewed for recruitment at the end of the year during career competitive recruitment.
