Hyundai Department Store Group Donates 200 Million KRW to 'Urban Youth Regional Win-Win Employment Project'
Seoul Youth Contribute to Solving Employment Issues
Programs such as Mentoring for Youth Employed in Local Areas Operated
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] On the 16th, Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it signed an agreement at Seoul City Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the nonprofit organization JUMP to promote the 'Urban Youth Local Coexistence Employment Project' and delivered a support fund of 200 million KRW. The signing ceremony was attended by Jang Ho-jin, President of Hyundai Department Store, Seo Jeong-yeop, Vice Mayor of Seoul, and Lee Ui-heon, Chairman of JUMP.
The 'Urban Youth Local Coexistence Employment Project' is an employment creation initiative promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to address youth employment issues. Seoul provides partial wage support when participating youth are employed by local companies in 11 regions including Busan, Ulsan, Daegu, and Gangwon.
Under this agreement, Hyundai Department Store Group will provide 200 million KRW to JUMP, which will operate a systematic support program for Seoul youth based on the funding.

Hyundai Department Store Group will also form a mentoring team composed of employees from all affiliates including department stores, home shopping, and Green Food to help youth understand overall corporate practices such as HR, marketing, and accounting. Furthermore, Hyundai Department Store Group plans to support expanding sales channels for products of local companies where these youth are employed by utilizing the group's distribution channels such as department stores.
