Enjoy Draft Beer at Home... Emart Introduces 'Tefal Beertender'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart announced on the 16th that it will officially launch the home-use 'Tefal Beertender' for 'home drinking' customers in Korea. The Beertender is a beer refrigerator that uses compatible beer kegs connected by tubes.
The newly introduced 'Tefal Beertender' is a product that was previously only available through overseas direct purchase but is now imported through Tefal headquarters to meet domestic standards and is exclusively sold by Emart. The Tefal Beertender maintains the optimal temperature for draft beer at 4℃ and preserves the pressure of the beer keg for up to 30 days to keep the taste fresh.
Emart will sell the Beertender for 124,000 KRW for the next two weeks and offers a 25,000 KRW discount when purchased together with a beer keg. The 5ℓ beer kegs compatible with the Beertender include three brands: Heineken, Edelweiss, and Tiger. This capacity is approximately 20 servings based on 250cc per serving.
Emart's move to strengthen its liquor section by introducing the Beertender comes as customer interest in 'home drinking' has increased due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and other factors. From February 20 to the 13th of this month, sales increased by 19.4% for wine, 14.3% for soju, 12.1% for traditional liquors, and 5% for beer.
Meanwhile, Emart is presenting about 36 types of imported beers and various side dish promotions under the theme 'Beer Adventure.' When purchasing five cans of promotional beer simultaneously, the price is 11,000 KRW, and when buying promotional beer together with any of the three types of chicken sold at Emart, the chicken is discounted by 30%.
Anchovy snacks, grilled filefish jerky, large cuttlefish jerky, and dried pollack are all offered at 9,900 KRW, while large squid legs and dried squid are priced at 5,900 KRW and 10,900 KRW respectively.
