'Yeongcheon-Samchang' National Road No. 35 Fully Opened... Expected to Revitalize Local Economy

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The 4.3 km section of National Route 35 connecting Omidong (Omi Intersection) in Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Sinhori, Hwanam-myeon (Buk-Yeongcheon IC) will be expanded from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and opened at 3 p.m. on the 21st.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 16th, with this construction, the entire 6.8 km construction project of the 'Yeongcheon-Samchang' section (Omidong, Yeongcheon-si to Geumho-ri, Hwanam-myeon), which began in 2013, has been opened.
Previously, the Busan Regional Construction and Management Administration of the Ministry of Land started the National Route 35 'Yeongcheon-Samchang' road construction project in October 2013 for the purpose of promoting regional development and balanced national land development. A total project cost of 71.9 billion KRW was invested over 7 years for the construction of a new 2-lane section (2.5 km) and the expansion to 4 lanes (4.3 km).
With this opening, not only will the chronic congestion on National Route 35 connected to Yeongcheon IC be resolved, but a smooth logistics transportation infrastructure will be established, which is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
