Gwangju Area 'Elementary and Secondary School Principals Association' Donates COVID-19 Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Elementary and Secondary School Principals' Association has joined the donation campaign to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
On the 14th, according to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon), the Gwangju Elementary and Secondary School Principals' Association (Elementary President Seonjeongseon, Secondary President Kim Hongsik) donated 18.04 million won to support COVID-19 relief efforts.
The donation ceremony was attended by Seonjeongseon, President of the Elementary School Principals' Association, Kim Hongsik, President of the Secondary School Principals' Association, Lee Yongseop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
The Elementary and Secondary School Principals' Association initiated the fundraising to share the pain of citizens suffering greatly due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to help alleviate the hardships of neighbors in need of meal support and care, as well as students in care facilities.
A total of 163 principals participated in the fundraising activities, including 95 elementary school principals and 68 secondary school principals.
The funds delivered to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea will be used to support neighbors in care and students in care facilities in the Gwangju area who are struggling due to COVID-19.
Kim Hongsik, President of the Secondary School Principals' Association, said, “As COVID-19 has prolonged, our children have been unable to attend school, so careful attention to education and care is necessary. I hope the donated funds will be of some help to the children who are facing difficulties.”
