Hampyeong-gun, Public and Private Sectors Join Hands to Overcome COVID-19 Crisis
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The public and private organizations in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do have joined hands to overcome the prolonged 'COVID-19' crisis.
According to Hampyeong-gun on the 14th, local public and private organizations such as the Hampyeong Police Station and Hampyeong Saemaeul Association are actively participating in voluntary quarantine activities to block the inflow of infectious diseases into the region.
Hampyeong Livestock Cooperative, Marine Corps Veterans Association Hampyeong Branch, and Hampyeong Agricultural Cooperative have formed their own quarantine teams since February and are conducting disinfection throughout the region.
The county quarantine team has been conducting large-scale simultaneous disinfection twice a month targeting all 273 administrative districts and 512 villages in the area since last month.
Hampyeong Saemaeul Association (President Kang Songbok) has been conducting intensive disinfection of multi-use facilities such as churches, commercial districts, and public terminals together with the civilian autonomous quarantine support teams formed in 9 towns and townships since the 9th.
The Hampyeong Police Station also distributed hand sanitizers and infectious disease prevention guideline materials jointly with the county health center and the Hampyeong 5-day Market Merchants Association on the 12th. They are also conducting a campaign to encourage all citizens to participate in the extended 'high-intensity social distancing' until the 19th.

Na Yunsu, Acting Mayor of Hampyeong-gun, said, "Thanks to the voluntary quarantine activities by related organizations and private groups, no COVID-19 confirmed cases have occurred in the region so far," adding, "Even after transitioning to a daily quarantine system, it will take a long time until the complete end of COVID-19, so we hope for active interest and participation in joint quarantine and prevention activities linked between the public and private sectors."
