Minister Jinyoung of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Conducts On-Site Inspection of Preparations for the 21st General Election
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Jin Young, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, will visit the Jongno-gu area in Seoul on the afternoon of the 14th, one day before the 21st National Assembly election, to check the election preparation status.
On the day, Minister Jin will visit the Gahoe-dong Community Center to check the installation status of polling stations, the storage and transportation of ballots and ballot boxes, and COVID-19 prevention measures, and encourage the officials involved. He will then visit the Jongno Police Station and Jongno Fire Station in sequence to inspect security and fire safety measures at the voting and counting sites.
Minister Jin emphasized, "It is more important than anything else to prepare without any setbacks so that the people can safely exercise their voting rights," and urged, "Please ensure that social distancing and quarantine measures are properly observed at polling stations and other sites."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been operating the 'Voting and Counting Support Situation Room' since the 10th until the end of vote counting to respond promptly to various election-related incidents and accidents.
