[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has achieved the great feat of being selected for the Excellent Basic Local Government Policy Award at the ‘Youth-Friendly Legislative Award’ for two consecutive years.
The Youth-Friendly Legislative Award, hosted by the corporation ‘Youth and Future’ under the National Assembly Secretariat, is judged among metropolitan local governments, basic local governments, and metropolitan city and provincial council members.
It is an event established to commend the achievements and contributions of institutions that have contributed to creating a youth-friendly environment based on the youth-friendliness index, which evaluates youth contributions in various fields such as policy, legislation, and communication.
Since the launch of the 7th local government, Gwanak-gu, which has actively promoted youth policies as a major pledge, has proven itself as a ‘Youth City Gwanak’ through two consecutive awards.
The district stated that it received high scores in areas such as ▲the establishment of the only youth policy department in Seoul ▲formation of the Youth Policy Committee and Gwanak Youth Network ▲Youth Challenge Project contest ▲operation of youth employment support programs ▲hosting and participating in youth-related events representing the voices of young people, such as youth festivals.
The Youth-Friendly Legislative Award ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 12 at Yeouido Park during the 4th Korea Youth Day event.
