KOSPI Retreats to 1820 Level... KOSDAQ Drops Over 2%
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 13th, the KOSPI slightly retreated to the 1820 level.
On that day, the KOSPI closed at 1825.76, down 34.94 points (1.88%) from the previous trading day.
The KOSPI opened at 1853.30, down 7.40 points (0.40%) from the previous close, maintained a downward trend, and eventually fell below the 1830 level.
In the stock market, individual investors net purchased 760.1 billion KRW. In contrast, foreigners and institutions net sold 295.4 billion KRW and 457.7 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, electric and gas utilities (2.33%) and steel and metals (0.18%) rose, while paper and wood (3%) and transportation equipment (3.63%) declined.
Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Celltrion (2.86%) was the only one to rise. Samsung Electronics (1.93%), SK Hynix (3.21%), Samsung Biologics (3.58%), and LG Chem (2.78%) all declined.
The KOSDAQ also closed at 596.71, down 14.55 points (2.38%) compared to the previous trading day.
The KOSDAQ opened at 609.94, down 1.32 points (0.22%) from the previous close, but the decline widened in the afternoon.
In the KOSDAQ market, individual investors net purchased 214.5 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions net sold 93.7 billion KRW and 110.7 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, semiconductors (5.03%), textiles and apparel (3.15%), and chemicals (2.84%) declined.

Among the top market cap sectors, Celltrion Healthcare (2.26%) and Celltrion Pharm (14.48%) rose. Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss (5.26%), CJ ENM (4.92%), and Seegene (4.53%) declined.
