Gwangju District Court to Distribute Attendance Tickets for Jeon Du-hwan Trial On-site on the 24th
Jeon’s Attendance on the 27th Draws Attention
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Jo] The court will distribute admission tickets in advance for the defamation trial of former President Jeon Du-hwan (89), scheduled for the 27th.
The Gwangju District Court announced on the 13th that the application process for admission tickets will take place on the 24th from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the large conference room (Room 659) on the 6th floor of the Gwangju District Court.
Excluding reserved seats, 33 seats will be allocated by lottery, which will be held on-site around 10:40 AM on the same day before distribution.
The general admission seats originally numbered 65, but the number has been reduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Admission tickets and identification must be presented, and entry may be restricted if masks are not worn.
This trial will be held on the 27th at 2:00 PM in Criminal Courtroom 201 of the Gwangju District Court, presided over by Chief Judge Kim Jeong-hoon.
Attention is focused on whether Jeon will appear in the Gwangju court for the second time since March last year, after the court sent a summons requesting his attendance.
Jeon has submitted reasons for non-attendance and has not appeared in court until now.
