Jeonnam Fire Department Special Judicial Police, 15 Fire Crime Suspects Sent to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 10th that the special judicial police have booked 6 cases of crimes violating fire-related laws, including acts that jeopardize the safety of residents, during the first quarter of this year, and sent 15 people to the prosecution.
This is an increase compared to 3 cases during the same period last year.
The violations mainly involved the Fire Services Act, the Fire Facilities Act, and the Dangerous Goods Safety Control Act. Among these, violations of the Dangerous Goods Safety Control Act accounted for the largest proportion with 3 cases involving 10 people.
In particular, Jeonnam Fire Headquarters is making efforts to strengthen strict law enforcement as crimes obstructing fire activities, such as assaults on paramedics, continue unabated.
In fact, in December last year, a patient receiving intravenous treatment in an ambulance was indiscriminately assaulted on the face and torso by punches and kicks, leading to booking and referral to the prosecution, and the case is currently on trial.
In March of this year, there was also a case where an intoxicated person assaulted the face and legs of a dispatched paramedic.
