[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card announced on the 10th that it will support small business owners through the 'Data Voucher Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Data Industry Promotion Agency.
The Data Voucher Support Project is a program that provides vouchers for data purchase and processing services to companies that need to develop new products and services using big data. The main beneficiaries are small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and startups facing difficulties in manpower and funding.
Last year, BC Card was selected as the first data and processing service provider in the industry for the Data Voucher Support Project. Approximately 400 million card payment data records are accumulated monthly from 35 client companies, and it also holds sales data based on the largest infrastructure of 3.1 million domestic merchant stores. For data analysis and processing, it applies analysis models incorporating its self-developed Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
Additionally, BC Card is preparing services for companies or government agencies aiming to utilize big data for service development and policy establishment needed by small business owners who have recently been struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
