Job Training and Startup Support Also Trending 'Untact'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The 'contactless (untact)' trend to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is expanding not only in consumption but also in areas such as job training and startup support.
The Korea Productivity Center (KPC) has launched the real-time online video education program 'KPC Live Class' to lead social distancing support and strengthen untact job training. The KPC, which supports individual productivity improvement through practical job training for employees, explained that it introduced the new education service 'KPC Live Class' that can be taken remotely or from home to minimize learning gaps for employees. Popular existing KPC courses are offered in the form of real-time video education, allowing participants to attend regardless of location.
Unlike existing online video lectures that were one-way, the advantage is that it proceeds with active interaction with instructors. By applying high-quality video conferencing solutions, it provides an educational environment where discussion and collaboration are possible. Through this, existing offline educational content can be experienced at home. Trainees can take KPC Live Class job training on a PC or mobile device regardless of location.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has also applied untact online evaluations for all face-to-face assessments of startup support projects since early this month to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The ministry announced last month that it would flexibly operate startup support projects by extending recruitment periods and substituting online evaluations in response to the rapid spread of COVID-19, and as a follow-up measure, it prepared an online untact evaluation manual. In particular, to facilitate the convenience of the evaluated parties, it decided to conduct online presentation evaluations using video call platforms and made it mandatory to conduct rehearsals in the same environment as the evaluation day to ensure smooth progress.

Although there were no issues during the rehearsals, if the evaluation does not proceed properly due to connection failures on the evaluation day, a re-evaluation opportunity will be provided. After the evaluation, a reverse evaluation of the evaluators will be conducted using an online survey platform, and any inconveniences experienced during the evaluation will be suggested to be reflected in the future operation of untact online evaluations.
