Hwasun-gun Provides 1 Million Won per Business for 'Small Business Emergency Management Stabilization Fund'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 10th that it will provide the ‘Emergency Management Stabilization Fund for Small Business Owners,’ offering 1 million KRW per business, starting from the 13th.
The Emergency Management Stabilization Fund is a ‘Hwasun-type small business support policy’ designed to assist small business owners, including self-employed individuals and small-scale businesses, who are experiencing management difficulties due to the spread and prolongation of COVID-19.
On the same day, the county held the ‘Small Business Management Stabilization Fund Payment Committee’ to review the applications received from the 1st to the 7th and selected the first round of payment recipients (1,734 businesses).
The county’s Emergency Management Stabilization Fund is a ‘cash-equivalent direct support’ policy, paid entirely in Hwasun Love Gift Certificates, which can only be used within the region.
Selected small business owners can visit financial institutions (Hwasun Love Gift Certificate agencies) starting from the 13th to receive 1 million KRW worth of Hwasun Love Gift Certificates.
Considering the urgency of support, the county plans to select the second round of payment recipients as soon as possible.
Additionally, small business owners excluded from the first review who supplement missing documents such as proof will also receive support funds. The county is the first local government in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to establish and implement direct support measures for small business owners.
Previously, the county began accepting applications for the Emergency Management Stabilization Fund on the 1st, expecting about 4,200 businesses including local self-employed and small-scale businesses to apply. The application period runs until the 17th.
Alongside this, the county is implementing various support policies for small business owners, including local tax support.
Measures to revitalize the local economy include a 50% reduction in water and sewage fees for residents, including small business owners, for April and May, and a 100% waiver of fees for six traditional markets until the COVID-19 situation ends.
