Gimhae City Selected in 3 Categories of Lifelong Learning Contest by Ministry of Education and Gyeongnam Province
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it has been selected for three lifelong learning public projects hosted by the Ministry of Education and Gyeongsangnam-do, securing a total project budget of 72 million won.
The city plans to strengthen the citizen-centered lifelong learning system by being the only one in the province selected for the Ministry of Education's Regional Lifelong Education Activation Support Project.
It was also selected for the Ministry of Education's Adult Literacy Support Project, through which literacy education will be provided to adults and foreign illiterates who have not received basic education.
As part of Gyeongnam Province's Local Talent Development Project, the plan is to establish a virtuous cycle model of lifelong learning by creating learning-type jobs and to create social value for lifelong learning.
Separately, the city is preparing to build lifelong learning big data by reorganizing the currently operating lifelong learning website to unify lifelong learning information channels and manage residents' learning histories.

Since being designated as a lifelong learning city in 2005, Gimhae City has been promoting democratic citizenship education by life cycle, along with support to resolve lifelong learning imbalances and expand access for learning-vulnerable groups to realize sustainable lifelong learning.
