[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 9th that the cumulative number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul, identified by 6 p.m., is 597. This is an increase of 5 cases compared to the count 8 hours earlier.
By cause of occurrence, the largest group was those related to overseas contact, including 3 additional cases, totaling 227 people (38.0%). No additional confirmed cases occurred in the existing large-scale cluster outbreaks in Seoul.

The newly confirmed patients in Seoul on this day included a 65-year-old man (Seongdong-gu case 11), the husband of a couple who entered Korea from the United States with their daughter studying there; a 62-year-old man (Seongdong-gu case 12), the son-in-law of a patient hospitalized at Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital in Gyeonggi Province where a cluster outbreak occurred; and a 22-year-old overseas Korean with U.S. permanent residency (Gwangjin-gu case 8).
