On the 9th, the Gunsan Branch of the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office requested this at the sentencing hearing presided over by Chief Judge Donghyuk Kim of the 1st Criminal Division of the Gunsan District Court, stating, "This is a case where a person exploited personal trust relationships in a small rural village to sexually exploit multiple victims over a long period," and "a significant number of the victims were minors at the time."
Pastor A, in his final defense, admitted, "As a pastor, I was wrong a hundred times for having inappropriate relationships with the congregants," but denied the charges, saying, "I did not forcibly sexually assault or molest anyone."
He was arrested and indicted on charges of repeatedly sexually assaulting or molesting nine female congregants at the church, his home, a villa, and in a private car from 1989 until recently.
It was found that some congregants continued to be molested even after being sexually assaulted. Some of the victims at the time were minors, and there were cases where mothers and daughters were molested.
