Gyeongsang National University Selected as 'ASEAN Countries University Student Invitation Training Institution'
35 University Students from 6 Countries to Be Invited for 6 Weeks from July to August
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongsang National University announced on the 9th that it has been finally selected as the '2020 ASEAN Country University Student Invitation Training Institution (Science and Engineering Field)' by the National Institute for International Education.
Accordingly, 35 outstanding science and engineering students will be invited from 34 exchange universities in 6 of the 10 ASEAN target countries, and a program including major courses in the Department of Life Sciences and Korean cultural experiences will be operated for 6 weeks from July to August this year.
Gyeongsang National University was also selected for this project in 2016, inviting 24 science and engineering students from 8 ASEAN countries and conducting training in the advanced aerospace mechanical engineering field. In addition, over the past 5 years since 2015, it has conducted invitation training for more than 160 outstanding overseas university students in 7 sessions, possessing the best experience in internationalized education in Korea.

The Department of Life Sciences, which is in charge of this invitation training, is one of Gyeongsang National University's three major specialized fields (Life Sciences, Aerospace Mechanical Systems, Nano and New Materials), and has been carrying out various national research projects based on outstanding research achievements since the 1990s.
