Police Officer Booked for Crashing into Traffic Sign While Drunk Driving

The Gwangju Western Police Station reported on the 9th that Sergeant A, belonging to a mobile unit of the Gwangju Police, is being investigated on charges of damaging traffic facilities while driving under the influence (violation of the Road Traffic Act).
Sergeant A is accused of causing an accident by hitting a traffic sign while driving under the influence at an intersection in Dongcheon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, around 11:17 PM on the 8th.
According to the police investigation, Sergeant A's blood alcohol concentration at the time was confirmed to be 0.121%, which is above the license cancellation threshold.
