Gangbuk-gu Urgently Allocates 3 Billion KRW Supplementary Budget for COVID-19 Response
Support Funds for Closure of Multi-use Facilities and Academies, and COVID-19 Prevention Measures Projects Injection
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) passed an additional supplementary budget of 3 billion KRW, urgently prepared to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support the stability of residents' lives, through the district council on the 6th.
As the COVID-19 situation prolongs, the district prepared the supplementary budget due to increased demand for disaster management funds to purchase infection prevention supplies and support small business owners and vulnerable groups. With the additional secured funds, the district expects to respond more effectively to COVID-19 damages.
This supplementary budget was prepared from the net surplus of the previous year's settlement. The secured disaster management funds will be used for business suspension support for multi-use facilities and academies participating in social distancing, as well as COVID-19 prevention projects.
Additionally, the district plans to use the funds for purchasing supplies necessary for preemptive measures against wind and flood damage, restoration of damaged facilities, and countermeasures for heat waves, cold waves, and snow removal.
