Three Pig Farming Organizations in Daegu Donate 20 Tons of 'Handon' to Underprivileged and Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Daegu Gyeongbuk Pig Farming Cooperative (Chairman Lee Sang-yong), Korea Pork Producers Association (Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Chairman Choi Jae-cheol), and Pork Fund Management Committee (Chairman Ha Tae-sik) delivered 20 tons of pork front leg meat worth 150 million KRW to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea on the 8th at the Daegu City Hall annex to help local residents struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The three participating organizations were established to promote the development of the pork industry and to increase the income and protect the rights of pig farmers. They continuously practice sharing activities for the underprivileged every year, not only through this event.
The pork donated to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea will be prioritized for delivery to places in urgent need of support, such as the marginalized and vulnerable groups suffering from COVID-19.
