SKC Eco Solutions Launches High-Performance Architectural Interior Film Business
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SKC's eco-friendly film material specialist subsidiary, SKC Eco Solutions, launched the eco-friendly high-performance interior architectural film 'SKC Eco Deco (eco-deco) Film' at the end of March. SKC Eco Deco Film is an eco-friendly film that can be used instead of paint. Following the launch of an exterior product in October last year, SKC Eco Solutions has now completed its lineup of architectural interior and exterior films by releasing the interior product.
The outer layer of SKC Eco Deco Film is made of 100% fluorine, providing excellent resistance to salt, chemicals, and strong resistance to contamination. It has been recognized for its eco-friendliness, as it does not emit heavy metals, toluene, or formaldehyde, and has obtained the Ministry of Environment's environmental label. It also boasts durability and versatility. With a lifespan of over 20 years, SKC Eco Deco Film is the only architectural film capable of mimicking various textures such as metal, marble, and wood.
Additionally, it received a Grade 1 rating for anti-mold performance from the international certification body SGS, and demonstrated antibacterial effects of 97% against Staphylococcus aureus and 51.4% against pneumonia bacteria. It also obtained fire-retardant certification related to fire safety from the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute, enhancing the functionality required for interior materials. Since it is a film applied over existing interior materials, it has the advantage of reducing construction waste.
To commemorate the launch, SKC Eco Solutions sponsored the installation of interior films at a large kindergarten in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province. SKC Eco Solutions plans to expand the application targets to places where health and safety are important, such as hospitals, nursing facilities, and schools, similar to kindergartens.
