[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 7th that it has signed job creation project agreements with 14 (preliminary) social enterprises and will begin full-scale project implementation starting this month.
This project was prepared to secure the self-sustainability of enterprises through various supports and to provide stable jobs to vulnerable groups.
Accordingly, a total of about 740 million KRW will be supported for 14 companies selected in Gwangju City's '(Preliminary) Social Enterprise Job Creation Project' contest, covering labor costs, social insurance premiums, etc., until March next year.
In addition, administrative support will be provided so that products and services produced by social enterprises can be preferentially purchased, and even after the project ends, certified social enterprises with excellent social value creation will be given opportunities to participate again.
Participating companies are required to fulfill obligations such as mandatory employment of at least 50% vulnerable groups, achieving target sales, signing standard labor contracts, and managing the attendance of participating workers, while also participating in realizing social value for residents.
Buk-gu plans to conduct regular guidance and inspections to prevent fraudulent receipt of support funds and to enhance transparency in accounting.
