Wemakeprice announced on the 7th that sales of various Convenipremium (convenience + premium) products increased compared to the same period last year throughout March.
Dishwashers, emerging as essential kitchen appliances, saw sales increase by about 18 times. Interest is growing as they reduce household labor while ensuring hygiene with high-temperature washing and sterilization functions. Additionally, clothing care devices increased sales by 10 times, and robot vacuum cleaners by 3.4 times. Electric ranges, which do not emit gas and help improve indoor air quality, increased by 2.3 times. Air fryers, which allow cooking without oil, capturing both health and convenience, also grew by 1.5 times.
This trend is also evident in food products. Sales of ready-to-eat meals that can be simply heated increased more than threefold alongside the rise of single-person and two-person households. Sales of 'cooking boxes,' which contain pre-prepared ingredients and seasonings, also tripled. A Wemakeprice official said, "As consumer demand to reduce household burdens and improve quality of life increases, various 'Convenipremium' products are gaining popularity," adding, "Especially recently, due to the COVID-19 issue, the time spent on household chores has increased, which seems to have further heightened interest in Convenipremium products."
