30s Reported for Unauthorized Quarantine Location Change from Icheon→Ansan→Jeonnam Sinan (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, reported a man in his 30s to the police for unauthorized departure from his self-quarantine location.
On the 6th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province filed a complaint with the police against Mr. A (38) for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act by moving without permission from his self-quarantine location, violating COVID-19 quarantine rules.
According to Icheon City, Mr. A returned to Korea through Incheon Airport from the Philippines on the 1st, and following the overseas entrant management guidelines, he was tested at the Icheon City Public Health Center and then went to a dormitory in Hobeop-myeon, Icheon City. He also installed a self-quarantine safety protection app on his smartphone for two weeks.
However, Mr. A moved to a motel in Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, saying he was dissatisfied with the dormitory facilities. This was revealed when Mr. A called the Icheon City self-quarantine officer to inquire about meal arrangements.
Later, Mr. A lost contact again but arrived at his father's house in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do, late in the afternoon on the 2nd and informed the Icheon City Public Health Center of his intention to quarantine at his father's house. He effectively traveled unprotected for about two days across Icheon, Ansan, and Sinan.
