[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] A man in his 70s who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) at Seoyoyang Hospital in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, has died. As a result, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in South Korea has risen to 190. Seoyoyang Hospital is a site of a COVID-19 cluster outbreak.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 6th, Mr. A (78) died at around 2:22 p.m. at Gimcheon Medical Center due to pneumonia and acute respiratory failure.
Mr. A tested negative in a full inspection at Seoyoyang Hospital on the 19th of last month, but tested positive in a re-examination on the 26th of last month and had been receiving treatment at Gimcheon Medical Center.
He was admitted to Seoyoyang Hospital on February 24 due to underlying conditions including cerebral infarction, hypertension, and pneumonia.

Meanwhile, there are 65 confirmed cases at Seoyoyang Hospital (60 under Gyeongbuk jurisdiction, 5 under Daegu jurisdiction), and among them, 12 have died so far. The total number of deaths in Gyeongbuk is 50.
