Sang-ik Lee, Candidate for Hampyeong County Governor, "Will Develop Sonbul Coastal Stay-Type Tourist Destination"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Sang-ik, the Democratic Party candidate for the by-election of Hampyeong County Governor in Jeollanam-do, announced on the 6th that he will create a stay-type tourist destination utilizing the Sonbul coastal tourism resources.
On the same day, while campaigning in Sonbul-myeon, Candidate Lee said, "We will promote the 'Mountain and Sea Healing Hampyeong Tourism Project' to create a stay-type tourist destination utilizing the world’s top five tidal flats, a natural tidal flat located in Sonbul-myeon and Hampyeong-eup."
He continued, "Sonbul-myeon boasts abundant tourism resources such as tidal flats with excellent natural scenery, reclaimed land rice, food like mud octopus, and germanium seawater steaming where you can enjoy hot springs and medicinal steaming all at once," adding, "We will develop it into a stay-type tourist complex through the 4+4+8 project in connection with the Dongbu Forest area."
He also stated, "To revive the stagnant Hampyeong economy, it is most important to develop the hinterland of the Bitgreen Industrial Complex and expand tourism infrastructure," and argued, "To carry out large-scale projects, a capable ruling party candidate who can secure a large amount of national funding by cooperating with the party and government must become the county governor."
Furthermore, he said, "Hampyeong now needs a county governor with leadership who can unite the divided public opinion of the citizens and lead harmony," and added, "During this election campaign period, I will take the lead in making it a festival ground rather than a battleground through policy pledges rather than black propaganda, to promote citizen harmony."
