Yeonggwang-gun Strengthens Inspection of High-Risk Facilities Following Extension of Social Distancing Measures
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 6th that it conducted training for senior officials on the government's extension of high-intensity social distancing and will strengthen inspections of high-risk group infection facilities at the small conference room of the county office.
This is because, despite the period of practicing social distancing, the number of new daily confirmed cases nationwide has continued to be around 100, and cases outside the quarantine management network with unknown infection routes have continued, making it urgent to suppress this as much as possible.
Following the two-week extension of social distancing, the county conducted strengthened guidance and inspections on compliance with quarantine rules along with recommendations to refrain from operating at 373 locations including religious facilities, indoor sports facilities, entertainment establishments, PC rooms, karaoke rooms, and academies.
Facilities violating quarantine rules will be subject to administrative orders prohibiting gatherings and assemblies, and penalties will be imposed based on inspection results.
In addition, for 27 care facilities such as nursing hospitals and psychiatric hospitals, the established quarantine system including a one-on-one dedicated public official system will be operated, and if symptomatic individuals occur, risk will be assessed through diagnostic tests, followed by full investigations based on test results to prevent spread in advance.

Governor Kim Jun-seong said, “Recently, the number of external tourists visiting the county, such as Baeksu Coastal Road and Bulgapsan, has surged compared to previous years, and confirmed cases with unknown infection routes have occurred domestically, making the management of high-risk group infection facilities more important than ever. Dedicated public officials will conduct thorough inspections, and we will actively guide residents to strictly follow hygiene rules such as refraining from outings and gatherings, wearing masks, and washing hands.”
