Damage to United Future Party Campaign Vehicle in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul... Police Investigation Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] In Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, a campaign vehicle was deliberately damaged, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Seoul Western Police Station on the 6th, a report was received that around 8:30 PM the previous day, the fuse box under the driver's seat of Hong In-jeong, the United Future Party candidate for Eunpyeong-gu Gap district, parked near Bulgwangcheon in Eunpyeong-gu, was damaged.
At around 5:30 PM the previous day, driver A, who had parked the car by the roadside and went to the restroom, discovered that the vehicle would not start. A said the vehicle was operational until just before going to the restroom. After checking with a mechanic, it was confirmed that someone had opened the fuse box and removed the fuses inside. United Future Party officials reported the incident to the police.

The police are analyzing fingerprints on the vehicle and reviewing nearby CCTV footage, and if a suspect is identified, they are considering filing charges for property damage and violations of the Public Official Election Act.
