Implementation of 1:1 Dedicated Civil Servant System Even if Judged as 'Eumseong'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, announced on the 2nd that even if overseas entrants test 'negative' for COVID-19, they will be thoroughly managed through a 1:1 dedicated public official system.
The 15th confirmed case in Jeonnam is a man in his 40s residing in New York, USA, who entered Mokpo via a special entry procedure at Incheon Airport on the 31st of last month and took a KTX train dedicated to overseas entrants. After testing, he was confirmed positive on the 2nd and is currently hospitalized at Mokpo City Medical Center.
The wife and four children, who arrived earlier on the 21st of last month and stayed in Sacheon, Gyeongnam, all tested negative, and a friend residing in Gyeonggi-do who traveled by car with the patient from the airport to Gwangmyeong Station was immediately reported to Gyeonggi-do as a contact of the confirmed case.
According to the investigation by Mokpo City, no general contacts have been identified so far.

Governor Kim stated, "As confirmed cases among overseas entrants in the province continue to occur, the provincial government is focusing on completely blocking community transmission through overseas entrants," and promised, "Starting from the 1st, all overseas entrants in the province will be admitted to the provincial temporary testing facility for diagnostic testing, and even if they test 'negative,' they will be strictly required to self-quarantine through a 1:1 dedicated public official system."
