Parents Living in Oksu-dong and Their Daughter, a US Student, All Test Positive for COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The 7th confirmed case has occurred in Seongdong-gu.
The confirmed patient is a woman born in 1967 residing in Oksu-dong, and she is a family member of the 5th confirmed case (#8717, confirmed on 3.20), her daughter who returned from the United States, and the 6th confirmed case (#8848, confirmed on 3.21), her husband.
She was under self-quarantine from March 21 and showed symptoms of mild fever and sore throat on April 1. She visited the health center's screening clinic for testing and was confirmed positive on April 2.

○ 3.20 (Fri) Daughter confirmed positive → transferred to Seoul Medical Center
- 15:50 Visited health center screening clinic for testing with husband (#8848)
○ 3.21 (Sat) Husband confirmed positive → transferred to National Medical Center (patient tested negative)
- Self-quarantine as contact of the 5th and 6th confirmed cases (~until 4.4), remained at home
○ 4.1 (Wed)
- 10:04 ~ 11:02 Visited health center screening clinic due to mild fever and sore throat, specimen collected, then returned home
(Used stairs when moving through apartment parking lot, traveled by private car, wore a mask)
○ 4.2 (Thu) Confirmed positive
- 11:00 Transferred to Seoul Medical Center, disinfection of home, stairs, and surrounding areas completed
The confirmed patient was transferred to Seoul Medical Center, and disinfection work was completed in the home, parking lot, hallway, stairs, and other common areas.
The on-site epidemiological investigation team is identifying additional movement routes and contacts through CCTV review, and any further information will be promptly shared.
Cases of infection imported from overseas continue to increase.
Seongdong-gu has implemented special strengthened measures from April 1, requiring all overseas arrivals to undergo 14 days of self-quarantine and testing at health center screening clinics to prevent spread caused by imported cases.
To prevent greater damage from overseas importation, not only those in self-quarantine but also their cohabiting family members are urged to strictly follow self-quarantine guidelines.
