Gwangju Police Fully Mobilize for Fair Elections with Full-Scale Operation of 'Integrated Election Security Situation Room'

On the 2nd, Gwangju Police announced that they held a plaque ceremony for the 'Integrated Election Security Situation Room' in preparation for the April 15 general election and officially began operations.
The Integrated Election Security Situation Room will maintain a 24-hour readiness system until the election concludes.
It is responsible for establishing a rapid reporting and communication system regarding election situations and maintaining a cooperative system with related organizations such as the Election Commission, covering all election tasks from ballot printing to vote counting.
During this period, the police will operate an emergency duty system, securing the safety of security targets such as campaign sites, voting and counting stations, ballot boxes, and counting centers, and will focus all efforts on maintaining election order so that a safe, peaceful, and fair election can be held.
Choi Gwanho, Chief of the Gwangju Police Agency, said, "Elections should be a fair festival," and added, "Please ensure thorough election security by carefully managing every security target throughout the election process so that it becomes an opportunity to establish a culture of fair elections and enhance public trust."
