View original imageThe international community provided approximately 9.4 million USD in humanitarian aid to North Korea in the first quarter of this year, with South Korea being the largest donor, according to a report by Voice of America (VOA) on the 2nd (local time).
According to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of April 1, the total amount of aid provided to North Korea by the international community was 9.43 million USD.
Among this, South Korea contributed the largest amount of 5.73 million USD, accounting for 60% of the total.
South Korea provided 4 million USD for the World Health Organization (WHO) maternal and child health project, and approximately 1.73 million USD for three projects aimed at recovering from Typhoon Lingling damage through the North Korean Red Cross Society.
Switzerland followed with 2.13 million USD, and Germany with 670,000 USD. The United Kingdom, Norway, Canada, the Czech Republic, and Azerbaijan also provided humanitarian aid to North Korea.
