'Overcoming COVID-19 with Bucheon Pay'... Bucheon City Increases Incentives by 10% Until July
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will actively respond to the economic downturn caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) by specially increasing the incentive for the local currency Bucheon Pay to 10% until July.
This measure aims to help overcome the crisis faced by neighborhood businesses, self-employed individuals, and small business owners affected by COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy.
The city has specially raised the incentive from 6% to 10% to encourage users to actively participate in consumption activities. Accordingly, users can receive a maximum incentive of 50,000 KRW when charging the monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW.
The city plans to promote Bucheon Pay activation by conducting active publicity such as external advertisements on city buses to encourage citizens to participate.
Choi Seunghun, Director of the Culture and Economy Bureau of Bucheon City, urged, "To revitalize the stagnant economy, please actively participate in using Bucheon Pay together with small business owners, under the slogan 'Overcome COVID-19 with Bucheon Pay.'"
