Gangdong-gu Supports Book and Board Game Rental and Delivery Services
Delivery and Collection Every Tuesday and Friday, Apply at Gangdong Youth Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is temporarily operating a "visiting rental service" that delivers books and board games to the homes of teenagers who are struggling and feeling confined due to COVID-19.
This service was prepared by the Gangdong Youth Nuri Center, a youth facility operated by Gangdong-gu, to help local teenagers overcome the current situation with a healthy mindset amid ongoing school delays and social distancing campaigns caused by COVID-19.
Any teenager living in Gangdong-gu can apply. Delivery and collection are conducted in a non-face-to-face manner, with Nuri Center staff visiting only up to the front door every Tuesday and Friday. Since this service started due to COVID-19, all items are thoroughly disinfected before and after delivery.
Applications can be made by checking the list of books and board games on the Gangdong Youth Nuri Center website and submitting the designated form.
Up to 3 books and 1 board game are delivered per household, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 30 households per day.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, "As the school opening period is delayed due to COVID-19 and teenagers spend more time at home, the difficulties faced by families raising children are increasing. Although it is a small effort, we will support overcoming COVID-19 together through this visiting service for teenagers. We will continue to strive for the healthy development of youth."
The Gangdong Youth Nuri Center is a public youth facility located on the 3rd and 4th floors of 57 Amsa-gil, Gangdong-gu, supporting autonomous youth activities, club activities, and youth programs in cooperation with the local community and schools.
