Call for Ideas on Improving Everyday Inconveniences and Policy Suggestions
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will hold the '2020 Yangcheon-gu Idea Contest' from April 6th to reflect residents' opinions in policies.
Since 2018, the district has been hosting the contest to realize and develop district administration in cooperation with residents through their creative ideas. This contest aims to collect practical ideas related to daily life and creative policy ideas concerning overall district administration.
In particular, topics that can solve district issues together with residents, such as ▲measures to respond to fine dust ▲intelligent smart city Yangcheon ▲plans to create an age-friendly city ▲plans to create a women-friendly city, are especially welcome.
The submission period is from April 6th to May 1st, and anyone residing in Yangcheon-gu or working, studying, or belonging to an organization in Yangcheon-gu can participate in the contest.
Submitted proposals will undergo preliminary review by the organizing department, followed by first and second rounds of evaluation. The final results will be announced in July. The selected idea proposers will receive awards and the mayor’s commendation as follows: Grand Prize (1 person) 1,000,000 KRW, Silver Prize (1 person) 500,000 KRW, Bronze Prize (1 person) 200,000 KRW, Encouragement Prize (1 person) 100,000 KRW, and Effort Prize (3 persons) 50,000 KRW.
A Yangcheon-gu official stated, “We will actively reflect residents’ creative proposals in policies to create a Yangcheon-gu that communicates and cooperates with its residents.” He added, “We hope for many residents’ interest and participation.”
