China Reports 20 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Reaches 80,844
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] China reported 20 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The National Health Commission of China announced on the 15th that there were 20 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in mainland China in the previous day.
As of the 14th, the cumulative confirmed cases reached 80,844, with 3,199 deaths. The number of new confirmed cases in China has clearly decreased, with 15 on the 11th, 8 on the 12th, 11 on the 13th, and 20 on the 14th, indicating that the epidemic is approaching its end stage. Outside Hubei Province, there were 16 new confirmed cases.
All new confirmed cases outside Hubei Province were people who entered from overseas. There were 5 cases in Beijing, 4 in Zhejiang Province, 3 in Shanghai, 3 in Gansu Province, and 1 in Guangdong Province. This brings the cumulative number of imported cases from overseas to 111, surpassing 100.
The new confirmed cases and deaths in Hubei Province were 4 and 10 respectively, all from Wuhan. There are 113 suspected COVID-19 cases nationwide in China. So far, 66,911 patients have recovered and been discharged.

Currently, 10,734 confirmed patients are receiving treatment, of whom 3,226 are in severe condition. The cumulative confirmed cases in Chinese territories outside mainland China total 204, with 141 cases (4 deaths) in Hong Kong, 10 cases in Macau, and 53 cases (1 death) in Taiwan.
