Lotte Duty Free Creates Fine Dust Reduction Forest in Yeouido Saetgang
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte Duty Free continues its eco-friendly efforts by tackling fine dust reduction and improving urban air quality in Seoul.
On the 13th, Lotte Duty Free announced that it will create a fine dust reduction forest in Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park using 35 million KRW raised through the "Kiehl Loves Korea" campaign in collaboration with New York cosmetic brand Kiehl's.
This fine dust reduction forest project is an extension of the Kiehl Loves Korea campaign, which has been ongoing since October last year. The tree planting fund was raised by donating 1 dollar each from Lotte Duty Free and Kiehl to the international environmental protection organization "EcoPeace Asia" every time one of five Kiehl products, including the "Ultra Facial Cream 125mL," is sold at Lotte Duty Free.
Lotte Duty Free plans to plant approximately 3,200 trees, which are highly effective in reducing fine dust, in Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park and support their establishment through continuous management such as pest control over the next three years.
Lee Gap, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, said, "We are very honored to be able to contribute even a little to improving the quality of life for Seoul citizens through this fine dust reduction forest project," and added, "Lotte Duty Free will continue to carry out various eco-friendly projects that benefit local communities."
