Citizens Angry at 'Shincheonji' Throw Eggs at Daegu Church
[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Some citizens angry at Shincheonji Church of Jesus (Shincheonji), identified as the epicenter of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, threw dozens of eggs at the entrance of the building housing the Shincheonji Daegu Church.
According to the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency on the 11th, the front door of the Shincheonji Daegu Church, which had closure orders and entry bans posted, as well as other entrances, were thrown with eggs by an unidentified person, causing a mess.
The police believe that someone dissatisfied with Shincheonji due to the spread of COVID-19 committed this act, and they are investigating the time of the egg throwing and the identity of the person involved by mobilizing police forces.
After the police forensic team completed the on-site investigation, officials from Nam-gu Office cleaned the soiled area.
