[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Seulgi Kim] Comedian Kim Cheol-min, who is battling lung cancer, shared an update on his condition.
On the 5th, Kim Cheol-min wrote on his Facebook, "To my respected and beloved Facebook friends! This is comedian-singer Kim Cheol-min. Thanks to your encouragement and love, I moved to a small nursing home on the 26th of last month and am adjusting well."
He continued, "My body is getting better day by day, so I will be on stage in Daehangno around May. The best chemotherapy for me is all of you!" expressing his gratitude to his fans.
Kim Cheol-min was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in August last year. Since then, he has been taking 'Fenbendazole,' a dog dewormer, and has shared updates through social networking services.
Fenbendazole is a type of benzimidazole used as a dog dewormer to eliminate protozoa, roundworms, hookworms, parasites, and tapeworms in the gastrointestinal tract. Recently, some cases in the United States have reported its effectiveness against cancer, leading to an increase in cancer patients taking it in Korea as well.
Last month, Kim Cheol-min shared the results of a brain MRI after five months of taking 'Fenbendazole,' saying, "Thanks to your prayers and love, it came back normal. Today is a gift."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety warned, "Fenbendazole, the main ingredient in dog (animal) dewormers, has not undergone clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy and effectiveness in humans. Its safety and effectiveness for humans have not been proven at all," urging caution.
