LPN Signs Overseas Sales Agreement with COVID-19 Diagnostic Kit Company Solgent
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] On the 11th, LPEN announced that it has signed an overseas sales contract with Solgent, a COVID-19 diagnostic kit company, after completing the acquisition of the KOSDAQ-listed company JMI on the 26th and becoming the largest shareholder.
Solgent recently received emergency use approval from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) on the 27th of last month for its newly developed COVID-19 diagnostic kit, "Diaplex." While the conventional method takes 1 to 2 days for COVID-19 diagnosis, Solgent's diagnostic kit can diagnose within about 1 hour and 45 minutes using a small amount of sample, with an accuracy level of approximately 99%.
Regarding the diagnostic reagent, Solgent has also obtained the European In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Certification (CE-IVD) and is producing COVID-19 diagnostic reagents that meet quality standards such as international standards ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and Good Manufacturing Practice KGMP.
According to Solgent, "Among the four companies that received emergency use approval from KDCA, Solgent is the only one producing COVID-19 diagnostic reagents using core raw materials developed and manufactured directly." They added, "Negotiations for product supply are currently underway with Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe (including Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom)." They also stated, "Due to overwhelming orders and inquiries from numerous countries overseas, an emergency production system is in operation to respond."
An LPEN official said, "We hope this overseas sales contract will contribute in a small way to minimizing the global social pain and anxiety caused by COVID-19," and added, "Through this contract, the overseas distribution and supply of COVID-19 diagnostic kits will be carried out by JMI."
